The Youth Education Motivation Program targets middle school
youth and engages them in career exploration activities. The
activities can include career fairs, career days, field trips to
local businesses, a career exploration survey course, career
technical education electives and after school programs and clubs.
Businesses are involved in the activities, and a broad range of
career choices are addressed with the aim of helping students begin
to think about their future beyond school. Roles, procedures and
typical costs for implementing the program are addressed. The
program can be easily replicated and adapted to reach high school
students as well.
