El Camino College has partnered with 10 other California community colleges in the Green Jobs Education Initiative. The initiative, sponsored by Southern California Edison, will provide $1 million for job training programs for students. El Camino received $100,000 from Edison, and will invest the funds in the California Community College Scholarship Endowment. The schools will receive an additional $50,000 from the Bernard Osher Foundation. The initiative will provide scholarships for dozens of students with financial needs at the school, each of whom will be awarded $1,000 a year for two years. February 2010
