Cuesta College: Green Jobs Action Summit

The first Green Jobs Action Summit for the Central Coast was held at Cuesta College on Friday, September 25, 2009. The goal of the summit was to provide a forum for eco-friendly, business-driven action by exploring ways to power green growth throughout the county. Keynote speakers included District 3 Supervisor Adam Hill and Debra Chaplan, director of special programs for the State Building and Construction Trades Council of California. Information was provided regarding current green laws, regulations, funding opportunities and case studies. The event also focused on new, green-driven economic opportunities to benefit both San Luis Obispo County and California. The summit was presented by the SLO Green Jobs Corps in partnership with Cuesta College, California Conservation Corps, Community Action Partnership, the Workforce Investment Board and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers
