The Green Jobs Education Initiative, sponsored by Southern California Edison, will partner with 10 California Community Colleges including El Camino college. The initiative will provide $1 million for job training programs for students. El Camino received $100,000 from Edison and will invest the funds in the California community college Scholarship endowment. The initiative will provide scholarships for dozens of students with financial need who are training for work in “green” areas. Students will be awarded $1,000 a year for two years.
