(NONTRADITIONAL STUDENTS)

The overarching goal of Engage is to increase the capacity of engineering schools/programs to retain undergraduate students by facilitating the implementation of research-based strategies to improve student day-to-day classroom and educational experience. Everyday examples in Engineering are lesson plans and solutions that can be integrated into the curriculum. They have been prepared using the principles of Engage, Explore, Explain, Elaborate and Evaluation. The Everyday Examples also include directions for building and using demonstrations, and lists of engineering ideas that can be used to illustrate engineering concepts. The Everyday Examples are organized by course areas that include, among others, Circuits, Dynamics, Graphics, Fluids, Manufacturing, Mechanics, Stress & Strain, and Thermodynamics. Engage also works to improve student spatial visualization skills, and improve and increase faculty-student interaction.
