National Resource: Everyday Examples in Engineering (E3s)
The Engage Project, Engaging Students in Engineering
(NONTRADITIONAL STUDENTS)
Based on research that shows many females fall behind males in terms
of spatial reasoning skills, the Michigan Technological University
implemented an introductory spatial skills course. More than 75% of
women who took the introductory course were retained in the
engineering program, compared to 48% of the women who didn’t take
the course.
